We’ve already helped select the tablets
Antonínská Primary School is one of the most technologically advanced institutions, where it has been sharing teaching materials or timetables on the Google Workspace cloud since the spring of 2020, so the data is constantly available online to all students and teachers. The school then combines the Google Workspace with the electronic student’s record book Edookit and other online services to provide distance learning for its students.
However, the Covid crisis upended the financial situation of some parents, and not all students had their own mobile devices to connect to the shared Google Workspace. So, the school decided to purchase 20 tablets at its own expense, which will be available to students and teaching assistants.
We helped them select the appropriate brand and model of these tablets as independent consultants. The choice ended up to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, which met all the needs of students and teachers, while corresponding to the financial requirements of the school. The tablets were then supplied to the school by the IT equipment retailer Comfor.
We set up all the tablets remotely
We arranged everything in cooperation with the school staff remotely using Samsung Knox Manage technology so the school IT technician didn’t have to unpack each tablet and manually install the necessary applications or set access rights to them.
For example, we set different access rights for teachers and students in the admin console, installing important applications needed for teaching and disabled the possibility of installing other applications or access to social networks. Tablets with these restrictions are only used for study purposes and there is no risk that students will turn them into a tool for playing games or entertainment.
“The advantage is that everything takes place completely automatically and without the users having to do anything. The students and teachers only have to switch on the device and connect to Wi-Fi and then the device itself installs the appropriate applications and blocks access to where the user is not allowed,” added Ondřej Kubeček, the Sales Director at System4u.
In addition, the settings of rights and restrictions can be changed at any time as needed, everything is a matter of just a few settings in the admin console of Samsung Knox Manage.
Buying twenty tablets is just the beginning. At the Antonínská Primary School, they want to continue digitizing teaching in the future and eventually create a digital classroom from devices that are now used by socially disadvantaged students of the school for distance learning, and they will also purchase other mobile devices. “We believe that we will once again be able to work with Comfor and System4u on the selection of equipment for this classroom and their settings,” said Deputy Director Marek Houzar, in conclusion.
