Drivers send their European trip reports via System4’s app

Nearly 400 trucks of CEE Logistics a.s., one of the most important Czech transport and logistics companies, transport goods across Europe on a daily basis. With the company’s mobile app, the company easily obtains documentation from drivers on the road. At the same time, CEE Logistics a.s. uses the MDM system (Mobile Device Management), which ensures data security and easy mass management of phones.

It all started with the decision to introduce the widespread use of mobile devices.

Management knew from the start that the use of the phones had to be meaningful and the company would be able to manage their use.

The idea to create an app for drivers came from the manager of one of the branches. The purpose of the proposed application was to obtain transport documents from drivers in the shortest possible time. The original procedure consisted of the employee handing over the necessary documents after returning to the branch or faxing them from the petrol station.

The documents are also used as a basis for calculating wages. Speeding up the flow of documents will contribute to better processing of invoicing documents and the aforementioned payroll calculation.

All from one supplier

CEE Logistics a.s. selected a partner who would ensure not only the creation of the application, but also subsequent administration, service and possible further development.

Benefits of the application

The deployment itself was very fast. Everything was up and running within a month. In terms of implementation, due to the large number of devices, the most challenging part was the recall, replacement and subsequent pairing.

The main task of the application is to get the necessary documentation from drivers to the persons who process it in the shortest possible time. Not only the transport documents, but also photo documentation of any damage incidents and claims. By getting the documentation into the right hands on time, CEE Logistics a.s. can provide better service and respond to individual customer requirements during transport. The possible non-delivery is no longer a burden on the administrative staff.

Only two administrators

In addition to the company’s application, the logistics company uses the Samsung Knox MDM system, which is also supplied by System4u. MDM keeps your company data safe. Only two internal administrators manage almost 400 phones in several languages.

Telephones of CEE Logistics a.s. employees in MDM mode are equipped with eleven applications. These include customised apps, a driver’s manual, a refuelling manual, Viber and more.

Drivers use the app to send documents for transport, photo documentation and can better respond to individual customer requirements during transport.
Samsung Knox is a tool to simplify initial setup and advanced data security on Samsung business mobile phones and tablets. The technology guides the employee on how to set up the mobile device himself in a few minutes exactly according to the employer’s requirements.

The app was just the first step

The application has been very successful for the logistics company. That is why they are planning further expansion. The application should continue to be used for mailing:

  • maps for loading,
  • any missing documentation,
  • forms and other materials.

In the future, they plan to link the application directly to their internal software, which will optimize costs and enable faster transfer of documents to customer platforms.
